SKIN JOINT REVIEW

Skin joint is a burger joint which consists of a house-like environment , with a finger food menu which is directed to a specific ingredient.  The star burger if skin joint is the Chemita Burger , a classic made with steak or a barbecue made with duck with crunchy skin. It is also a place to grab a drink in a relaxed environment with punk mood. They have artesanal beer that satisfies the thirst. The people in there is usually under 35.

The type of evening is informal, as the waiters are not in suits and everything is fancy. The type of kitchen is Mexican/American Southwest. They accept cash, AMEX, Mastercard and Visa. The type of clothing is informal or elegant ,as the two types are most commonly used. The executive chef of Skin Joint is Felipe Ortega. The hours of operation are Lunch Tue–Sun 12:30 pm–6:00 pm Dinner Tue–Sun 6:00 pm–1:00 am. They have few parking spots, but they have valet parking service. The music they usually play is alternative rock, bands like Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Thirty Seconds to Mars, among other rock the local. It is for non-smokers as smoking is prohibited in bot, outdoors and indoors of the property.

Flavor.

Without any doubts the flavor of his iconic burger the Chemita Burger is unbelievable. The quality of meat and the love they put in each one of their ingredients makes the Chemita Burger the best in the whole city.  The dish comes along with the meat juice for it to be poured over the meat of the hamburger or fries. The Juicy Burger consists of a burger with the meat filled with cheese, alongside with the same great ingredients of a great burger.

Experience

Since the moment you arrive to the parking lot you see the valet parking instantly, they open your door and receive you with a big smile. The exterior design of the place is mysterious, it looks like a night-club. At the parking lot in the front you can see luxury cars, that upgrade the sight of the local. I saw a few celebrities while in there. When I entered the host received us kindly, you will that they want you to be there. I love rock and for me the music was a its finest point. The way they present their dishes intrigue me every time they arrived.

Service.

The service in there was excellent. Valet parking as I said previously was fast and efficient . The host gave us a table at the instant with a smile in his face. In the restroom they offer a variety of soaps and hand lotions along with a variety of artesanal candies, also there was a kind lady who offered you the soap and the towels. The waiter took his time while arriving to the table , but he had a great personality so that did not bother me at all.  They gave us the food in an appropriate amount of time ,as good burgers are known to be made with love and patience. At the end the host offer us some spicy candy that was delightful.

Hygiene

The hygiene in the restaurant was very good. Nothing to complain about, just the table are made from a rare consistency that when you put something humid over it remains marked, so if you spoil catsup , soda, etc , it will remain a stain. Restrooms were at its high state of clean.

Fry-game

Fries came along with the burger , which is nice. At the time I taste it recognized that the fries had been fried in truffle oil, which for me was a pretty awesome idea, because I have tasted many truffle fries in several restaurants, but they put the truffle condiment on top of the fries , but not cooked with it, so they omitted an uneccesary thing in their fries. The fry game was quite good as the fries were crunchy enough , but not hard, they were on point.

Price

The price for the Chemita Burger was 450 pesos, along with a 40 pesos lemonade without refill I order with it. I think it is quite expensive , and only truly burger lovers would dare to buy. I think that if they lowered their prices national recognition could be achieved. The good thing with the price of the Chemita Burger was that it included fries, which for me is a big deal for the burger to have. The lemonade should had refill, as you usually wait 15-30 minutes for your order to come you can easily drink 1 or 2 plus the one you drink while you are eating. Some people will raciónate his or her drink as no refill is included, at the same time reducing their meal experience.

Muncher House A Review 4BURGERLOVERS

Muncher House stands as one of the most popular burgers in Monterrey and is loved by many. Our team decided to try Muncher House out and review their burgers. So, this is a review of Muncher House's Burgers and side dishes.

Muncher house offers many dishes like wings, boneless, salads, and hot dogs, but where the restaurant really shines is in its burgers. Muncher house’s offers many styles of burgers, however we only try traditional cheese burger and specialty burgers of the restaurants we visit, so in muncher house we tried the cheeseburger and the “Pacman”. First lets start with the cheeseburger.

First of all, muncher house is the type of restaurant that sells really heavy foods, for example, a salad will be very big and contain a lot of protein foods. So the burgers are very big, filled to the maximum, and really heavy in the stomach, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing it just depends on how the restaurant prepares them. So the cheeseburger had really nice bread that did not break under all of the other ingredients so that was very nice. The meat could be very big and thick for some people, but for the “burgerlovers” team the meat was really nice. It was very juicy had a lot of flavor and was not brittle. The other ingredients of the burger, however, could improve somewhat. The lettuce felt a bit old and so did the tomatoes, the cheese was alright, so overall these ingredients were OK, but could definitely improve. These was a really good burger, it had all the aspects of one and with that size one could hardly complain, and for that price it definitely is a good option for someone that wants to try a new restaurant’s burger.

The next burger we tried was the restaurant’s special take on the burger, the “pacman super”. This burger includes everything the cheeseburger had plus beacon, onion, extra cheese, and mac and cheese, all inside the burger. Upon receiving the burger we were wondering if the bread we had tried earlier in the cheeseburger would be able to support everything the pacman offers. Luckily it did. That was the time we realized that muncher house’s bread was very good, the taste and the fact that it was freshly baked made it one of the best bread one can find in a burger, and it also was durable so it is pretty high up on our bread ranking. The pacman super is a really good burger, muncher house took a good burger, their traditional cheeseburger, and made it their own and made it better. We liked how they combined the bacon with the onions and the cheese so that nothing would be slipping out of the burger. They used the cheese to stick the onions and the sliced beacon together and it had marvelous results. Add to that the mac and cheese and the experience is made so much more original and different.

The pacman super is only 160 pesos which makes it one of the best deals we have seen in awhile. The taste is definitely much better than you would expect, as is the quality. I would even say it is one of the best 160 pesos I have ever spent mainly because of what they offer with their burger, because not only do they give you a tasty, and very big, burger, but they also include cheese-bombs and fries. So, first the cheese-bombs. These were good and that is about as far as they go. We certainly appreciate them being included, and even more for that price, but we can not speak really good of these cheese-bombs because they are not something that is out of this world. The are very rubbery, and if they get cold then even more so. We will not remove point for these bad cheese-bombs because most restaurants only include the burger and fries, and worse ones at that, for the same price. So, if anything, these cheese-bombs, are a good and welcome bonus, even if they are not that good. 

Finally the fries, the fries are really good, and believe us when we say good. They are traditional fries but they have some chili powder that gives an extra kick. The fries sit so well alongside the burger and maybe the only problem stands with the cooks. Many time I have had to decide whether to ask for an extra order of fries or not because I don’t know if this time they will serve me a regular or very small amount of fries, but that doesn’t take away from how good these fries are.

In short, Muncher House offers a good experience, a very original and tasty burger alongside good fries and ok cheese-bombs all for the impressive amount of 160 pesos. So if you want to have a good burger, good fries, and a good experience for an affordable price, we couldn’t recommend Muncher House more.
